at Juno Beach |
|
Juno Beach, Florida is becoming internationally known as a place where sea turtles come each year to nest. Local ordinances have been created to promote a safe haven for this annual event. The beach is constantly changing. The tides and storms wash out much of the sand and sometimes the government replaces the sand through dredging. Juno is a place that is enjoyed by surfers, swimmers and fisherman. It is a place where tourists and locals find themselves playing in the sun, walking and collecting shells, falling in love or losing themselves in deep thoughts and meditation. Parts of the beach have these beautiful rocks that the waves wash over. Often times, there are so many people around that it is difficult to photograph the scenery without the invasion of footprints in the sand. I choose to enjoy this beach with as little human intrusion as possible. The computer allows me to take multiple images of the area and then combine them into an idealized beach surrounding. This image was created by combining several color photographs and removing the human elements. To me black and white restores much of the romance that this beach reflects. This image was chosen to be included in a photography publication featuring many artists throughout the world. "Mysterious Motions" from the International Library of Photography. The publication was released in 2002. Other sizes are available. E-mail Kim for a quote. |
