The last vacation I took with my parents was to Chicago when I was finishing college. My mother and I spent a week touring many art galleries and museums while my dad was on business. I hadn't been to many large cities and was amazed by all of the glass and steel that created these monumental buildings. When I saw the reflections in this door, I thought of the photo realism paintings by Richard Estes. I waited to be sure I could photograph the scene without any people in the picture. Estes paintings look remarkably like photographs. This photograph doesn't look like painting. I did not use the computer to do any enhancing of this picture. I wonder how many times a day this door revolves. People go in and people go out. It's kind of like a symbol of the life process. We come in and we go out. Other sizes are available.
