At one time, the elements are taken from the earth and made into something useful to man. In this case metal became a car. Eventually, the car became useless and was abandoned in a field. Mother nature has done her part to reclaim the elements that were hers to begin with. This is one of my favorite photographs. The rust colors are very strong against the man made colors of paint that are slowly peeling away. I did not use the computer to change this in any way. This all the work of man and mother nature. The image was shown at "The New Gallery" at the University of Miami as part of the Photowork 88 competition. Over 250 artists from 30 states submitted photographs for the show. The juror was Evon Streetman who pared the show down to only 75 artists. At a lecture about the show she stated, "I looked for things I hadn't seen before and things that, if I had seen them a million times, were done better or as well as I had seen before."
